DANCE INJURY THERAPY

DANCE INJURY REHABILITATION

The condition of a dancer’s body is fundamental to their training and performance. It is important dancers not only maintain their bodies, but when they do have an injury, they receive the best possible care.

Our dance podiatrists have extensive experience in dance-related injuries and are actively involved in ongoing research and education.

Getting the correct diagnosis and educating dancers on their injury is crucial in getting our patients back to dancing as quickly and safely as possible.

TREATMENT

Treatment will vary greatly depending on the severity of your injury but as dancers and dance teachers, we understand the importance of not missing out on studio time. We will tailor a rehabilitation to your needs that may include floor barre (performing barre exercises or variations that are not weight-bearing).

Dancing in a moon boot or a shoe with a customised insole can be used for offloading. Not pointing the foot or going onto full demi pointe can be some of the modifications we can recommend during training until the dancer is ready.
